Some of Rick's Activities in 2015

Ric and Nancy assisted legal permanent residents to complete
their 25-page application for citizenship at a community-wide
 workshop in April.

We travelled with the Hosanna seniors group to several places on the free Harris County bus.
This was a stop at a seafood restaurant on a trip to Galveston.

Some of Nancy's Activities in 2015

Nancy organized a quilting project at Hosanna with ladies from one of our
local mosques on a special "God's Work, Our Hands" Servant Sunday

As expected, Nancy is attending more and more retirement parties of library friends.
This photo shows a group of retirees from the Kingwood library where she worked
from 1993-95. Shown are Jeannette Wickander, Connie Dye,
Elizabeth Ronald, Joanne Moore, and Nancy.

Seventeen Hosanna women and friends went to CreekHaven Resort in
Wimberley, TX, in April 2015 for a weekend retreat. The event was in
support of the African Initiative Kagera Scholarship Fund.

Enjoying time with friends at the Wimberley Glass Works
(Susheela Beteet, Rose, Nancy, and Susan Greer).

Victor in 2015

The news about Victor for 2015 could have been very different. He was hit head-on by a drunk driver going 70 mph. His fortified jeep saved his life, and he walked away from the accident.

Victor with his new jeep. After the accident, we heartily agreed with his decision to purchase another jeep. After this photo was taken, he added some more safety attachments.

Vic displays the results of a successful day of duck-hunting with his buddies.

Vic flies a drone in his work, and he captured this picture of
a crew boat, a platform to be removed, and a
crane used in the removal.

Here is an example of one kind of platform demolition. The platform to be removed
 is set with explosives.

Vic's dog Clover, currently boarding with us.

Reunion with Buehring Relatives in Illinois, May 2015

Nancy's sister, Mary Edmunds, passed away in October 2014.
In May of 2015, we drove to Illinois and took Mary's ashes to be buried at
First Lutheran Cemetery in Alsip, near the
graves of our parents and many other relatives.

We were able to combine the trip with a reunion of  Buehring cousins who grew up together in Blue Island, Illinois. Many still live in the area, but some came from as far away as Wisconsin and Oregon. Front: Joy Quint, Chuck Mager, Nancy Agafitei, Larry Weaver
Back: Janet Schwarz, Carol and John Hosmann, Jim Blume, Chris Weaver,
Jane Moellendorf, Jessica Himmelreich, Jean Mager

We enjoyed dinner and conversation together at Barraco's Restaurant on Cicero
after the service at the cemetery.

We travelled to Alabama for Easter 2015

The family gathered around the table for Easter dinner at the home of
Tracy and Paul Edmunds in Birmingham, Alabama.

We always include a trip to Davenport's with Tracy and Paul, where they serve
pizza that is most like Chicago-style that we have found in the south.

These are Paul's grandchildren from his daughter Kerry and Jim Blackmon:
Kylee, Ryder, and Kane.
